Dale's H-D hosts an annual Fall Rally, a party and bike show to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The event consists of three days of fun and fundraising. It starts with a leather and lace dance at the local Holiday Inn. The dance has food, drinks, live music, dancing, and silent and live auctions. The following day features a party, bike show and bike raffle at the store. Then, it all wraps up with a poker run through Mt. Vernon. Dance and bike raffle ticket sales, bike show entry fees, and poker run hands all go to the MDA. The most recent Fall Rally, Dale’s raised almost $5,000.
The Gateway HOG chapter will be having its annual Chili Cook Off @ the shop. Bring in your best pot of chili and enter it in the contest. Come and have a bowl of chili for lunch. All entries must be submitted by 12:00 noon; that is when the judges will start. Entries must be in a crock pot or something that can be plugged in and kept warm, and have a serving utensil to dish it out. All proceeds from this will be donated to Feed My People. We will take the can goods we have been collecting and the monies earned from the Chili Cook Off to them for a healthy donation for the holidays. Thank you to everyone that has participated in this.
The annual Lot Bash is a fundraiser for the St. Vincent DePaul Society Of Jefferson County. The event takes all the fun of a typical party at Surdyke Harley-Davidson like free food and live music, makes it much larger with a bike giveaway, and adds the aspect of a charity fundraiser. Raffle tickets are sold throughout the year for a new Harley-Davidson with all proceeds going to St. Vincent DePaul. The most recent Lot Bash raised $7,500 for the St. Vincent DePaul Society, which in turn gets the money to local families that are in need.
Surdyke Harley-Davidson also sponsors the Shriners Hospital Ride and the March Of Dimes’ Bikers For Babies.
